Why it matters

One stream, kept separate at source

Waste upholstered seating carries a well-documented flame-retardant problem. Under UK Environment Agency guidance it sits inside the POPs regime; mattresses sit outside it.

We keep the two apart at the dismantler, not at the baler. Nothing that reaches your line has been mixed with seating foam at any point in the chain.

A constraint we chose, not a limitation we live with.

Documentation

What travels with the load

  • Annex VII documentation Completed and travelling with every shipment, as required under Regulation (EU) 2024/1157.
  • Traceability to the dismantling site Every load is identified back to the operation it came from.
  • Mattress-only declaration Written confirmation that no upholstered seating foam is present in the consignment.
  • Weights and grading per load Bale count, tonnage and grade recorded per container.

Shipping

Within the EU, without a notification

Since 21 May 2026, plastic waste exported from the EU to OECD countries outside it requires the prior notification and consent procedure. Shipments between EU member states are unaffected — the general information requirements of Annex VII apply, as before.

If your plant is inside the EU, we can load without a notification procedure. If it is not, we will tell you honestly what the route requires before we quote.
